A lots being said about the nonsensical yet in-its-own-way entertaining flim 'Happy New Year'. Right from the critics to the junta, all have either abused the film or were simply amused by it. Amidst these mixed reactions Bollywood veteran Jaya Bachchan stirs a new cup of controversy when she unabashedly criticized Shah Rukh Khan's film 'Happy New Year', which also stars her son Abhishek Bachchan.
At the recently held literary festival Jaya went to quote that HNY is the most nonsensical film she has seen in years. She further said, "I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he's a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that. I can't be part of what is being done in films these days and hence I don't do films anymore."
Jaya Bachchan may have been at her candid best, however, her this honesty didn't really go down well with films producer & actor Shah Rukh Khan. Jaya's upfront comment has send the Bachchan khandan in a damage control mode.
Sources claim that in a bid to sort matters between the two powerhouses, Amitabh Bachchan sent a text message apologizing to SRK on behalf of Jaya. Certain sections of the media also claim that Junior Bachchan along with wife Aishwarya went to Mannat to personally apologize to SRK. However, the actor was out of town & hence they couldn't meet.
